WHEN WILL I NEED A SPLITTER?
|
As your sound system expands, it will eventually be necessary to provide
additional mixes from locations other than the main mix position. Although it's
possible to provide a separate monitor mix from the main console, a person
located nearer to the performance area can hear what the performers hear, see
their cues more easily and just generally be able to provide a better monitor
mix.
Or you may be called upon to provide a separate mix for recording or broadcasting your performances. That mix will be at its best if the person providing it is isolated from the confusion of hearing the live sound. In any event, you'll most likely need to split your mic signals and feed more than one mixing console. Read more about splitters in our tech article Microphone Splitters. |
SB SPLIT 6

Use this handy box when you need to split a line level* signal up to 6 times.
Features 1 female XLR input wired to 6 male XLR outputs.
Perfect when adding extra amplifiers to a system, connecting multiple powered
speakers, splitting intercom lines, etc. * Line level outputs can usually be split 6 times without noticeable loss of signal quality. The actual number of splits that can be accomplished depends on the level of the source signal and the impedances of the source and destinations in a particular application. It is not recommended that the SPLIT 6 be used to split a microphone level signal to more than two or three outputs. Attempting to do so may result in poor frequency response and reduced signal level. The SPLIT 6 may be used to split microphone level signals in most applications if this limit is observed.
Whirlwind SB Series multichannel microphone splitters provide a convenient method of splitting multiple microphone signals to two locations each. Each channel has a Whirlwind WC3F female XLR input connector wired to two Whirlwind WC3M male XLR outputs. These splitters are available with either two direct outputs, one direct and one transformer isolated output, or with two transformer isolated outputs. The splitter can be ordered with ground lifts on one or both outputs. The boxes are built from heavy cold-rolled steel for long term abuse-resistance. |

SPCON CONTRACTOR SPLITTER Please call 1-800-816-4262 For Pricing. Contractors working with fixed installations regularly face having to install an organized, easy-to-maintain junction area where multiple microphone lines come together and are split out to feed other areas. The SPCON provides a quality, low-cost, versatile solution in a standard 5U rack package with removable cover. Incoming mic lines along with direct and transformer split outputs are rapidly and reliably terminated to Eurostyle screw terminals mounted on circuit cards. Each card provides circuitry for six channels, and each SPCON accommodates up to four cards. This time-saving terminal design requires no soldering or tinning of the conductors and makes field installation a snap with just a stripping tool and screwdriver. Outputs include one direct and either one or two transformer isolated splits. The entirely passive circuitry requires no power source. A phantom power option includes the extra circuitry required for connecting the SPCON to an external phantom power supply, such as the Whirlwind PS48. Select "YP" option. In addition, the phantom power option can be ordered with DC blocking circuitry installed. This option prevents the phantom power voltage from appearing at the direct outputs where it might interact with sensitive direct-coupled mic preamps or with patch bay systems. Select "YPD" option. |
SPLITTER-L (SP1X3LUNT)
PREMIUM MIC SPLITTER with LUNDAHL TRANSFORMER
|
As single-channel versions of the Multisplit 1X2 and 1X3, the Imp 1X2 and 1X3 provide one direct and one or two transformer isolated outputs, respectively, from a mic level input. The Imp Splitter 1X2 provides one direct and one isolated output, while the Imp Splitter 1X3 provides one direct and two isolated outputs. Each transformer isolated output on these devices features a ground lift switch. Input Impedance: 150 Ohms Output Impedance: 150 Ohms Operating Level: -50dB to +4dB Frequency Response: 20Hz-20kHz ±1dB |
LINE BALANCER/SPLITTER
This handy tool lets you send a line level signal to two destinations with transformer balancing and isolation for one or both of the outputs. The balancing provides superior noise rejection when you have equipment with unbalanced outputs that need to feed equipment with balanced inputs. The transformer isolation eliminates unwanted hum and buzz caused by power line and grounding issues. In ISO mode the signal is passed directly through the unit to one output and transformer isolated to the second output. In Split mode the signal is transformer isolated to both outputs, with a resulting 6dB drop in level at each output. A ground lift switch is provided for each output. Both a female XLR and a 1/4" TRS jack are provided for the input signal. Male XLR connectors are used for output signals. |
ISO2 LINE LEVEL ISOLATOR and DUAL LINE BALANCER
The ISO2 is a two channel isolation box and line balancer.
As an isolation unit, use it to isolate lines to press and video feeds or on-stage power amps.
As a balancer. it converts unbalanced lines from CD players, tape decks, etc. to balanced for
Each channel features:

HEADPHONE BREAKOUT BOX
Sometimes you won't have a separate amp channel available for every headphone you need to drive. Our passive headphone breakout box divides a standard power amplifier output to feed 6 separate headphone outputs. A resistor divider network protects your amp and helps compensate for differences in brands and models of headphones. Multiple boxes can be daisy-chained together with Whirlwind ST Series cables if more outputs are needed. |
